Highly efficient returns system with AGV technology

The handling of returns is complex, but unavoidable in online trading. As part of a joint project, Pierau Planung and Heber Fördertechnik have refined existing technologies into a highly efficient returns system.

A new type of automatic guided vehicle (AGV) system supplies processing stations with containers. Equipped with a tipping mechanism, their frames enable boxes weighing up to 50 kg to be made available without human intervention. Conventional transportation is not necessary. Because the AGV system buffers the containers, this ensures even utilisation of the processing sections.
